TakeOff Festival is England's leading festival of theatre for children and young people. Produced by Theatre Hullabaloo it is a week-long festival of shows, workshops and family fun for children in venues across the North East.
Each year we bring some of the most exciting theatre companies from the UK and beyond to the region so that their work can be enjoyed by schools, families, children and young people in a variety of venues.
TakeOff Festival 2016 took place 17-23 October, the highlight of the week was our Family Day when TakeOff Festival takes over Durham City Centre and fills the streets full of amazing shows, street theatre, installations, storytelling, arts and craft workshops and tons of other amazing things to do and see with the whole family.
TakeOff 2017 is a delegate Festival!
Every two years the Festival also becomes a meeting point for professionals working in the field of theatre for young audiences. Delegates can enjoy shows, networking opportunities, panel discussions, scratch work and presentations. The next delegate Festival is 16-22 October 2017, delegates dates are 18-20 October. You can find more details in our delegate information.
